news_banners_club

We announced in October that the 2012 AGM would be held on Saturday 21April in Cambridgeshire. In order to not rush the rebrand and announce the plans for 2012 in further detail at the AGM, it has been decided that it will be moved back a couple of weeks to the 5th May running alongside round one of the Modified Live / Time Attack Championships at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire.

A link to the members only area lists the AGM details.  http://forums.sidc.co.uk/topic/157787-2012-agm/

The 2012 SIDC Calendar is now ready to order

That's right folks, the 2012 SIDC Calendar is now available to purchase from the club shop and will cost you a rather tidy £9.50 each (including VAT and delivery within the UK).

Each calendar is printed by HP's MagCloud service (as is True Grip) onto 80gsm FSC-certified, acid-free paper, folded and stapled at the centre.

All copies will be shipped in a batch and will be with you in time for Christmas.

Committee Announcement

You will be aware that since the appointment of a new Committee to SIDC in late 2010 and our first AGM since 2006 back in April that a considerable amount of time and effort has gone into stabilising the Club for the future. This has been achieved through a variety of cost saving measures which have at times been both time consuming and extremely difficult to action. However, during this process the full Committee has met on a regular basis to ensure that these actions have been agreed by all involved and every single Committee member has also had their part to play in moving this forward.

Thirty Subaru cars surprise Newquay boy Jake James

A group of car enthusiasts from across England have travelled to Cornwall to surprise a boy with Cerebral Palsy.

Thirty Subaru owners from as far afield as Oxford and the Peak District travelled to Newquay on Sunday.

They surprised Jake James, seven, who has Cerebral Palsy and diabetes and says the Subaru is his favourite car.

His mum, Diana James said: "It's just mind blowing, we can't thank all the people enough, it's just been amazing and it's just all been for Jake."

The car enthusiasts made their way down to Newquay after a family friend suggested the idea and posted it on a Subaru forum.

As well as leaving his house to find the cars revving on the road, Jake also got driven around Newquay in a 30-car convoy.

clubnewsbannernew

Kames is a short sprint circuit and cars run one at a time for four laps (out, 2 flyers and an in). Kames is much easier on your car than a full race circuit and the pace is decided by you. Full details can be found in the Kames June Track Day thread.

True Grip In Print

clubnewsbannernew

We have a question for you! It's one I've been bouncing around my head for a couple of months now and the Committee have agreed that it's a question that would be better answered by you guys as opposed to us making the call. So, on with the preamble...

As much of a success as the digital True Grip has been fantastic to see and a real achievement for the club, there are a number of members who, quite rightly, miss the traditional printed format.
