![]() As any engine mapper will tell you, the hardest and most nerve wracking part of fitting any new ECU is getting the engine to run in the first place. Only once that fairly vital hurdle has been established can the mapping process begin.
Making the whole process somewhat easier is the superb new range of ‘plug and play’ ECUs from Link. As their name suggests, these neat units are a direct replacement for the factory units. Not only sitting perfectly inside the original casings, but more importantly coming complete with a full factory style plug to allow quick and simple connection.
No additional cutting, adaptors or bracketry is required to get these units to fit. They communicate with all factory sensors and solenoids and once installed, the safe base map included means that the recipient car will fire and easily run at a smooth, safe idle, ready for the mapping process to begin. All software is freely downloadable and the firmware itself is fully upgradeable to keep the G4 at the edge of latest developments. Don’t be fooled by thinking that the G4’s reasonable price ticket means that it’s light on features. Link have cunningly squeezed in the kind of processing ability and additional functions that wouldn’t look out of place on a unit costing twice as much. Check this little lot out!
